A DAY OF GREAT EXPERIENCE AND EXPECTATIONS

Greetings, Steem family! I trust you are all doing well. Join me as I share my daily encounters.

Today started with my usual morning routine. After taking a refreshing bath and having breakfast, I headed out for work. I anticipated a great day, but things took an unexpected turn. Upon arriving at the radio station, I learned that the manager was unwell and needed someone to anchor a program from 8 to 10 AM. With only ten minutes to prepare, I felt the pressure. What could I talk about for two hours?

As a media professional, I took on the challenge. I spoke on the crucial topic of gender equality. While it may seem straightforward, the subject is layered with complexities. I highlighted how society has perpetuated gender inequality and offered potential solutions. I also addressed the role of low parental involvement in exacerbating this issue and emphasized the importance of cultural shifts to provide equal opportunities for both genders in pursuing careers.

Thanks to my preparation, the discussion went well!

I then rushed to the plastic campaign site. Were The Green, Bright Light Project, and other dedicated organizations collaborated with the youth of Bamenda to tackle plastic pollution at Mulang. The day was filled with joy and enthusiasm as young people actively participated in combating this pressing issue. The event was organized by Nsangou Rudolf, President of QS Impact Bamenda.

During the engaging work session, we conducted interviews in the market square to gather insights on the effects of plastic pollution on the environment and local commerce. The feedback we collected was invaluable and will guide future actions.

The Green team led an educational talk, emphasizing the responsibility of youth in addressing the rising tide of plastic waste due to their consumption habits. They discussed practical solutions for better plastic management, reminding participants that many often overlook the potential value of what they already have. Nsangou pointed out that items typically considered worthless could actually provide opportunities for income and improved living standards. He encouraged the youth to think critically and seek meaningful change in their communities.

The leader of the Bright Light Project urged everyone to adopt a networking mindset, highlighting that every small event could lead to future opportunities. Nsangou expressed gratitude to the youth for their commitment to making this campaign a success. By the end of the event, we had collected over 2,000 plastic bottles, which were taken to our main recycling site for shredding.
