Niestety póki co, jest to tytuł ekskluzwny tylko dla graczy posiadających Sony Playstation 4 (Pro). Zapewne za rok ukaże się na PC i Xboxa One.
Akcja dema to praktycznie początek oryginalnego Final Fantasy VII, gdzie Claude Strife razem z członkami grupy Avalanche (Jessie, Biggsem i Wedgem) oraz przywódcą grupy Barretem Wallacem, przypuszczają atak na północny Reaktor Mako nr 1. Akcja kończy się wraz z ucieczką z eksplodującego reaktora.
