Haryali Prawn Dum Biryani
With all my heart, I urge you to try my version of Prawn Biryani! Fresh prawns cooked in spicy, creamy green masala layered with aromatic basmati rice and caramelized onions. Close to the Malabari flavors but made in Hydrabadi style. Serve with a chilled glass of solkadhi. I promise you, you will be left wanting for more. .

Ingredients:
500 gms prawns deveined and marinated in salt and turmeric

For Green Masala:
2cups packed chopped Coriander
1cup packed chopped Pudina/Mint leaves
1 inch Ginger
10 cloves of Garlic
10 green Chilies

For the Gravy:
1 cup green masala paste
2 thinly sliced Tomatoes
1cup thick Coconut milk
1tsp Garam masala powder
1tbsp Kokum extract
Salt to taste
Oil for frying .
For the Rice
3 cups long grain Rice
1 Tej patta/ Bayleaf
5-6 Pepper corns
1 Javitri/ Nutmace
4-5 Elaichi/ Cardamom 2 inch Dalchini/ Cinnamon
1 Chakra phool/ Star anise
Jaayphal/ Nutmeg to grate
Salt to taste
Water to boil .
For layering the Biryani:
6 onions thinly sliced (fried)
1cup grated coconut
10-12 cashew nuts (fried)
5-6 strands of saffron (soaked)
1tsp ghee
1 small piece of coal
