DELTA+ UPDATES – CASES AND DEATHS
What is DELTA+? This DELTA + is a mutated form of DELTA variant. It has the spike protein K417N in it. So Virologist consider this may be the reason for making DELTA+ more transmissible. In India this DELTA+ cases has started to increase in numbers. Since it already has characteristics of DELTA variant and now this mutated protein DELTA+ scientists worry that this might become a major reason for THIRD CORONA WAVE in India. Still researches are going on to find whether this mutated variant could be controlled by the vaccine or not.
What characteristics makes DELTA+ different from DELTA?
• DELTA+ has more transmissibility than DELTA
• It can bind strongly to the lung cell receptors
• Once it enters human body it reduces the body’s monoclonal Antibody response.
DELTA+ CASES IN INDIA
In India there are 51 cases and 4 deaths reported as of now. Nearly 12 states of India has been reported with DELTA+ variant.

FIRST DEATH DUE TO DELTA+
On Friday (June 25) Maharashtra reported its first death of a 80 year old woman due to DELTA+ in Ratnagiri district. Followed by 2 deaths at Madhya Pradesh. Tamil Nadu also recorded its first DELTA+ death on Saturday (June 26) at Madurai in accordance with information rendered by state health department.
CENTERS FOR CONTAINMENT
To prevent the widespread of this variant Government has started to take initiatives in the affected states. At Ozarkhol, Sangameshwar taluk, Ratnagiri , Maharashtra where a death has been reported was declared as a containment zone and contact tracing has begun. At Punjab also Ministry has declared immediate containment actions like to prevent crowds and mingling of people in those affected areas. In Kerala districts of Palakkad and Pathanamthitta has infected with DELTA+. In Mysuru one person is infected with this variant. In Gujarat it has reported that 2 people were infected with DELTA+ variant by April itself but as of now they have been cured and this state currently has zero infections. All the other states infected with DELTA+ variant has urged the treatment facilities and taken several constructive measures to prevent its widespread.

It's really devastating that 3rd wave is coming. Personally, I'm sick of all this shit, I couldn't visited my Hometown since one and half year due to covid.
