FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST BY @chegodrick||15% Reward to @steem.skillshare
Hello fellow steemians I am glad to be part of this food photography contest. Thanks you @life.pics for this opportunity.
The reason why I snapped this food is because it is a unique and amazing food in my country Cameroon, a typical traditional meal of the North West region commonly called "One finger round the world". it is made from pounded coco yams mixed with unripe Achu banana as it is called here and eaten with the yellow soup.
THE INGREDIENTS FOR ACHE ARE;
-coco yams
-Unripe ache banana
-plantain leafs to tie the paste after pounding.
INGREDIENTS FOR THE SOUP ARE;
- Palm oil
- Meat, Fish.
- Nicki (as it is called here)
- Achu spices
- Salt
- Maggie
PROCEDURE
wash your coco yams and put into a pot according to sizes, with the bigger ones at the bottom you boil for about 10 minutes then you add your banana into the pot and boil for about 20minutes more
After that, remove in bits, pill and pound till you notice no lumps in the Achu
. When you have pounded all in the pot, you mix the banana and coco yams to become uniform then you warm your plantain leafs with fire, cut little portion of the paste and tie in the leaf.
To prepare the soup, you wash your meat or fish and boil after that you remove and keep with the water it boiled in. You bleach your palm oil and keep to till it is warm after that you mix the oil with the stock from the meat or fish, put in some "Nicki" which turns the soup yellow, then you put in your Achu spices and then end up putting some Maggi and Salt stir properly and you can now serve it.
After this, you put your Achu into plate, mix it and create a whole in the center,put your soup and gladly enjoy your meal.
Thank you all for reading.
