AS BRABAS start the FINALS AHEAD // LetsGoCoringation
Greetings, Coringation travelers!
Last Sunday, September the 15h of 2024, the Corinthians' Women's Football Team, porpularly known as the As Brabas (which I just now realized with Claude 3.5 Sonnet's help that it practically litteraly translates to The Badasses in English), faced off against São Paulo in the first leg of their Finals dispute in Brasileirão.
I won't brag enough here about them, but As Brabas are litteraly incredible. They won every tournament they played in last year, and have been one of the strongest forces in Women's Football globally since the project really was taken seriously by the club and reactivated in 2016 with Audax, and later in 2018 by ourselves. Corinthians' since then has won the Copa Libertadores 4 times, the Brasileirão 5 times, the Copa do Brasil once, the Supercopa do Brasil thrice and the Campeonato Paulista 4 times.
They also have achieved a world record in 2019, with 34 consecutive victories. Yes. Thirty-four. In a row. Yeah. Maybe I've bragged enough.
The first match of the Finals dispute was played at Morumbis, their stadium. SPFC seemed to seize their home advantage and really had the upper hand for the first part of the first half. Up until a shot from outside of the box by Duda Sampaio, that ended up in the feet of Vic Albuquerque, who then assisted Millene in entering with the ball to the back of the net. 1x0

The same masked hero, Vic Albuquerque, who you can see above, was responsible for the two goals in the second half. Our superwoman is the current record-holder in goals made by thr Brabas, and I think she made her point why. 3x0
Unfortunately, the home team needed to ruin our Sunday a bit, and scorde in the last few minutes of the game with Ariel, after an enormous mistake by our players. 3x1
The second leg of the Finals happens at our house, Neo Química Arena, at 10am BRL time, on the next Sunday, the 22nd. Corinthians has a pretty good advantage coming to the decisive game, but job's not done. Let's go to work.
[Edit: I had uploaded the image without cropping it.]
In more disappointing news, the Man's Football Team lost another one in the Brasileirão, even though this time was for the leader Botafogo in their home, we cannot lose any points. Corinthians continues to be at the relegation zone, 12 games to go.
More than ever, because it's also currently halftime in our first leg game against Fortaleza for the Sulamericana, and ma boy Igor Coronado has just scored a banger, we have to feel:
VAI CORINTHIANS!!
or, as I jokingly sing in Portung'lish,
LET'S GO CORINGATIOOOOONN!!!
