Bangladesh defeated WI Cricket in the Caribbean | The World of Sports |
Hello, sports lover people. How are you? I hope you are fine and doing well. Today. I am going to talk about the historical victory of Bangladesh against the West Indies in the Caribbean. After 2009, Bangladesh never defeated the West Indies in the Caribbean. So I consider this victory a historical one.
I remember in 2009 when I was young and a schoolboy, the Bangladesh cricket team visited West Indies for a two-match test series. Before the start of the series, some senior West Indian players decided to strike and not play for the national team and did not participate in the test series. The West Indian board had to recruit some new players to play against Bangladesh.
In that series, Bangladesh created history by defeating them 2-0 margin, I mean whitewashed West Indies. It was a historical victory because Bangladesh was the first time to do that on a foreign ground. Bangladesh did that against a less experienced West Indies, but the result is the result.
Now, Bangladesh's one of the most dependable batsmen, Mahmudullah Riad, has his debut in that series and played fantastically super. Under the captaincy of the legend Mashrafee Bin Mortaza, Bangladesh achieved that for the first time in history. Mahmudullah emerged everyone as a debutant, and Tamim Iqbal played spectacular innings.
After that series, Bangladesh and West Indies met 7 times for a test series. Bangladesh visited West Indies 3 times, and West Indies visited Bangladesh 4 times. In the meantime, Bangladesh only managed to win a series against West Indies on home ground. In all other series, Bangladesh got whitewashed. This time, under the captaincy of young Mehidy Hassan Miraz, Bangladesh secured one test victory in the Caribbean.
I consider this test victory as a compliment to the development of Bangladesh cricket. Because this year the Bangladesh team is playing very well. If the Bangladesh team continues playing this way, the future of the Bangladesh cricket team will be bright in the test format. I wish the best of luck to the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. This is a good process of development, and the result is great, in my opinion.
Things are looking good for Bangladesh at the moment. First the win against Pakistan, and now the West Indies. Who will their next victims be?
Maybe the next opponents. Or maybe mighty England. 😉
We are rather mighty at the moment 🙂
I know that. I am a big fan of English cricket and Joe Root. There was a time when I had to wake up the full night to watch Roots batting in the Caribbean. You know we have an opposite time zone.
My nephew absolutely loves Joe Root.
Our direct opposite is Australia / New Zealand so whenever it's the Ashes and they're down under, you've got to be crazy to stay up and watch it.
Root is the artist! ❤️
Yeah, Ashes is something special to watch.
