Curation rewards update! May edition.

in #hive2 years ago

15 days ago, I did start tracking my curation rewards to see if I can earn a little bit more HP when in-depth knowledge. You can find my original post here: https://hive.blog/hive-167922/@fullcoverbetting/curation-rewards-every-hive-does-count-so-make-it-count

Now 15 days later it is time for an update.

May

Now that May is behind us and all curation rewards from that month has arrived, we can have a look at the results!

Before we have a look at the figures I do need to point out that I did power up during May, which of course also has an effect on the numbers. But that is also the advantage of the snowball effect on Hive. The more you have, the more you can earn.

The great news is the average daily income from curating posts did increase with a massive 31%. This isn't only the effect of powering up, but also because I do try to keep on curating during the weekend. Often when I did come back on Monday, my voting power was way above 90%. I do try to have it constantly hovering between 75 and 85%.

With a curating income of 45.377 HP, May was the best month so far this year. The income did increase with a whopping 35%. It is also great to see that the worst day with earning curation rewards is almost touching 1 HP with 0.935. It would be great that this will be above 1 in the June report. But I do doubt it, due to the fact that I wasn't that active during the last prolonged weekend.

7 day average

I did learn during the covid period that the 7 day moving average is a great way to see where things are going. And by the looks of it, it is going north!

And there is still room for improvement. I have no clue how the curation rewards do work these days. So if I do have time, I will have to dive into that. This way I can maybe earn a little bit more. But I don't think that it is possible to earn more than 2 HP per day with the current state of my account. But at least we are heading into the right direction.
With 206 days left in the year and earning on average 1.5 HP per day, that would boost my account with 300 HP before the year is over. And this is without taking the snowball effect into account.
I still have the dream to reach 10K HP before the year is over. So a long trip to that goal awaits me. Maybe I could/should use Actifit a little bit more, but I don't like to spam the community with 2 posts a day. But splinterlands will push my account 50 more days with the SPS airdrop, where I do use 50% of the earning to power up.

And of course the community can also help me by upvoting this post to unseen heights :) But we all know that the chances on that are slim to none excisting.

Cheers,
Peter
