Lan hài Cypripedium là một giống trong chi lan hài Slipper Orchid, có sự phân bố chủ yếu ở khu vực khí hậu ôn hóa, á nhiệt đới. Các loài địa lan này sống ở vùng rừng cây và đồng cỏ trên các cao độ khác nhau cũng như bìa của các vùng đầm lầy. Các loài ở cực nam thì có ở Mexico; trong khi ở vùng cực bắc thì người ta tìm thấy ở Vành đai Bắc cực thuộc vùng Alaska, Siberia và Canada.
