Chicken of the Woods and Cumulus, Learning Log
Today is October 22, 2021.
Halloween is coming up, and I decorated the house and the front yard. My Halloween costume arrived. I am going too be kidnapped by an alien. I am also working on a Christmas wreath.
There has been a couple of nice days. We went scootering around the sea wall and Kitsilano.
We went hiking in Stanley Park with our new friends, Susan and Kierrin. We where looking for Chicken of the Woods mushrooms, but we didn't find any.
In Math, we are studying graphs. We have studded bar graphs, line graphs, and line plots.
In Science, we are studying the Water Cycle.
From the Complete Canadian Curriculum:
Water in the ocean evaporates into the air becoming water vapour. Clouds form when water vapour joins with dust particles in the air. Rainwater soaks into the soil and below that into the underground. The sun heats the air around the earth and oceans. An underground water spring flows into a stream which joins with a river that leads to the ocean.Water droplets in clouds join together getting so heavy they come down from the clouds as precipitation usually as snow or rain.
We also studied cloud and precipitation.
From Google:
The three main types of clouds:
High-level clouds (5-13 km): cirrocumulus, cirrus, and cirrostratus.
Mid-level clouds (2-7 km): altocumulus, altostratus, and nimbostratus.
Low-level clouds (0-2 km): stratus, cumulus, cumulonimbus, and stratocumulus.
I am still reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Days. I am on page 72
Catching up on the lessons I missed in school. Thanks. 😊
