My banana adventures in zone 9.
I started with a couple small dwarf Cavendish pups in early 2020. Made my own fish head, and guts compost. Had some radical growth and one fruited after Hurricane Sally. It was fun to marvel at the fantastic growth rate I had never seen in my zone 6 experience.
I wrapped the banana rack with beach towles for every cold snap. The last little cold dip to 28 degrees murdered evey banna plant I had over knee high, to include the one that had the banna rack.
I had just a few rippen to the edible stage.
2020 rebirth after adult plant death.
This year I have moved about 7 pups into 16 gallon pots and I will bring them inside my garage every cold snap with a large dolly, like I did with my pepper plants.
It's a pain, but I got peppers right now.
Good luck!
