Introducing!!!!!!! Me.
lets start with some back story. I lived in Alaska from when I was 2-20, I loved it there but hadn't lived anywhere else and wanted to experience another state so I moved to Colorado with my ex. Lived there for 5 year, fell on some hard times and jumped ship to Arkansas where my parents were. Been here for two years now, enjoying the quiet country life.
Now some personals. I'm a single mom of a two year old and took in my teenage cousin. I'm going to school to be a science teacher. And working as a housekeeper and substitute teacher.
Our farm. We have 25 chickens; 5 baby blue laced red wyandottes, 14 road island red hens, and 6 road island red roosters (4 of which are being fattened up for the freezer). We also have a goat pair that will hopefully be mated this fall and we'll have a baby in the spring. We're planning on getting a undetermined number of chickens, a few Nubian goats to add to our herd, and I'm gearing for pigs lol. We have a very very small scale garden that will be getting an upgrade in February or March. We have been getting good produce from our tomatoes and cucumbers, did radishes and carrots at the beginning of spring and will do another round of them for the fall.

Welcome to Steemit. I'm moving to Arkansas in a couple weeks, that's cool you've already got a start there. I've only been on here for a couple weeks but you'll find a bunch of others interested in homesteading and like.
One tip I'd like to pass along that someone gave to me on my first post. If you could edit this post and change one of your tags to introduceyourself - all one word- this post will be easier for others to find. You can also then search for other posts with that tag and see how others here have done their intro posts. Just a tip, I wish you luck on Steemit and the homestead and life in general. Enjoy.

Oh do you know the area in Arkansas your moving to? If it's near me maybe I can introduce you to some of my connections. Also I run a fb group called Arkansas homesteaders back to basics, great please to start meeting people here and I filter out animals rights people so if you post about butchering a chicken you won't be attacked lol
I'm a mile or so from Blue Mountain Lake, and a few miles south of Mount Magazine. Havana, AR is the postal address, but I'm out in the boondocks. I've got relatives in Russellvile, which is about 40 miles east of me, so I'll be going there often. I just looked up your FB group and joined, Trigg is the last name. That'd be great to get to know other homesteaders in Arkansas, thanks for sharing that with me.
