Making Restaurant Style Nachos, Getting Ready for the Big Show on MSP Waves Broadcast Radio

in #homesteadersonline7 years ago (edited)

With Discord Group Servers you can voice chat with other users. Using this voice chat, some Steemit Discord Group users host Broadcast Radio Shows. Coming up in half an hour or so is a broadcast featuring many people from a few groups I'm on, so tonight I'm making a point of watching this show:

I'm in my off-grid cabin, I don't get out much, so for me this is the Big Friday Night Show. For the occasion I'm baking a plate of Nachos Supreme with a side of Salsa and Guacamole.

I'm using basic ingredients for this one - tortilla chips, shredded brick cheese, diced red peppers, green peppers, red onions, and minced garlic.

I put the tortilla chips on the side of the pan that fits into the outdoor propane oven.

Add the toppings, making sure every top chip has a little cheese to help prevent the chips from burning.

I put the pan into the 480 degree preheated propane oven, bake for 15 minutes.

The baked nachos are ready for plating.

I'm prepared for the Big Friday Night Show.

Have a great weekend!

This looks so delicious ! I would eat it without a hesitation.I have a question.. Do you love living off grid ? Is it easy ? I am kind of interested in off grid living since I've always admired the people that do that .

Thank you for contributing to the Steemit Community.Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to your next posts.

I do love living off-grid, and for me it's two fold because it allowed for early retirement, which made the adjustment easier. The property came with a well insulated cabin, wood burning stove, and a modest solar power setup that we added to, so that also makes it easier while we build our house. Off-grid, i should say we don't like utility bills, because we have a comfortable amount of electricity that we make, a cell phone, and wireless internet. So as far as communication with the outside world we don't feel too isolated like someone might feel in a off communications grid location. Easier water flow is our next job to tackle.
The great part about hard manual labor is that your mind is free to wander and come up with easier ways. The heat of the summer was something i had to adjust for, spent too much time in the sun and got a bit grouchy, but i adjusted so i would do that work earlier in the morning, and i apologized to my wife :) Off-grid it's important to relax a bit and not over do it, there's always the next day, and things keep getting better the more you figure out better ways to do things .. It's nice spending so much time outside and with the little one. We have spent more time with relatives in the past 8 months than we did the 3 years before. We've been over 8 months off-grid and almost through a winter, i'll share our experiences, lessons, and observations thus far in a post this week. Thanks @castbound :)

Thank you for the details on your off grid living experience = ) Seems like you are having amazing time there and the fact you live off grid is definitely worth it. I would love to see more off grid related posts from you .

Replace the red onions with some chopped up Jalepeno's or Habanero's and you got yourself a winner! haha

We had hot pepper rings, but forgot all about them, got all caught in the photo shoot :D
