A Skill like Gardening and Farming Can Get You DRAFTED If Martial Law is Declared and They can Seize Your FOOD!

in #homesteading7 years ago (edited)

You spent years learning from your grand parents the skills to be self sufficient. Skills such as gardening, Farming livestock, preserving food, and canning for example. But what if you have a well established Homestead and the Government just walked in an seized all your supplies and stated you are coming with us, to work for us. OMG What would you do? What about your land and the crops and livestock. How would your family continue to maintain your land? These are all very real possibilities. Have you ever thought about what you would do? Read Below the Legislations in place for both Canada and US.

Obama signed a National Defense Resources Preparedness executive order March 2012. All Americans are automatically registered with the government according to their skill level, so – like the military draft – they can be forced to perform jobs and services the government deems vital to the nation’s functioning [as part of a National Defense Executive Reserve.

Sec. 502. Consultants. The head of each agency otherwise delegated functions under this order is delegated the authority of the President under sections 710(b) and (c) of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2160(b), (c), to employ persons of outstanding experience and ability without compensation and to employ experts, consultants, or organizations. The authority delegated by this section may not be redelegated.

Sec. 601. Secretary of Labor. (a) The Secretary of Labor, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense and the heads of other agencies, as deemed appropriate by the Secretary of Labor, shall:

(1) collect and maintain data necessary to make a continuing appraisal of the Nation's workforce needs for purposes of national defense;

(2) upon request by the Director of Selective Service, and in coordination with the Secretary of Defense, assist the Director of Selective Service in development of policies regulating the induction and deferment of persons for duty in the armed services;

(3) upon request from the head of an agency with authority under this order, consult with that agency with respect to: (i) the effect of contemplated actions on labor demand and utilization; (ii) the relation of labor demand to materials and facilities requirements; and (iii) such other matters as will assist in making the exercise of priority and allocations functions consistent with effective utilization and distribution of labor;

(4) upon request from the head of an agency with authority under this order: (i) formulate plans, programs, and policies for meeting the labor requirements of actions to be taken for national defense purposes; and (ii) estimate training needs to help address national defense requirements and promote necessary and appropriate training programs; and

(5) develop and implement an effective labor management relations policy to support the activities and programs under this order, with the cooperation of other agencies as deemed appropriate by the Secretary of Labor, including the National Labor Relations Board, the Federal Labor Relations Authority, the National Mediation Board, and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.

Canada does have some similar laws.The laws against food storing go back to 1918, during World War 1 when the Canadian Food Board was put into place.

The current orders and regulations that apply against food storage exist in the Canadian Emergency Measures act, specifically in section 8:

  1. (1) While a declaration of a public welfare emergency is in effect, the Governor in Council may make such orders or regulations with respect to the following matters as the Governor in Council believes, on reasonable grounds, are necessary for dealing with the emergency:
    (e) the regulation of the distribution and availability of essential goods, services and resources;

In Wartime from Canada, the USA and Britain, the government had laws in place to collect things such as metal pots and pans and gold and silver to help the war effort to make weapons and ammo, so the military went and confiscated these items from homes across the country. This all could be a reality once again, if Marshall Law is declared. Please share how you would handle this situation and what would you do?

Happy Trails

Thanks for pointing this out @gardengirlcanada. Scary thing for sure. However, I can't help but apply the legal-illegal-all equal view: If the government forces can legally detain you for trying to help yourself, confiscate your property, and force you to share your expertise with them for free, why is it so much worse than if they did it all illegally? I think if marshal law is declared, it will be for reasons that could equally give rise to other (non-governmental) entities who would do the same illegally. Of course I understand under marshal law the suspension of all rights, so then it wouldn't matter any more what used to be legal. We'd be back in thug rule, where everyone and everything is illegal.

What a valid point you present. Thank you for expanding on the nature of this topic.

great info, fortunately we don't have this problem in Bulgaria, you can have years of food and supplies stockpiled and it is actively encouraged

That's it, I'm moving to Bulgaria!

Do you have the right to bear arms in Bulgaria? I know in Hungary (as in Germany and most parts of the EU) you can barely have a butter-knife to defend yourself against the government.

Buy gun's, grow food ,join local militia. It's going exactly according to plan . Remember there is only 1 Leader telling the American people to buy gun's and never give them up, Putin.

Thanks for the information 😉😉

SMH I was not aware of this. Ugh....

I'm screwed. I can fix just about any machine, grow my own food, and that whole metal confiscation...
It's a good thing I lost all my coins in a boating accident😉

I think this is an appropriate time for OMG!!! 😧 😠

Better stash some of your supplies in a cache hidden deep in the woods where even the bears can't find them.

This is what I asked at the end of my blog, what would people do? Suggestions.
They can take your medicine, weapons, seeds whatever they deem necessary for the state to function.

Thanks for sharing this info! I'm now following if you would like to follow back.

I see people post their pantry shelves on social media- of course they are proud of their canned goods, stockpile and hard work. But it makes me wonder if they are opening a door to allow the government to see exactly what they have. Conspiracy theorist? Maybe just a small infliction on certain days, but if this were to happen? Sad, sad day

I agree it will be a sad sad day. It happened in the UK during the war, then those people had to survive off of rations. I really never understood why people would share their pantries with the world, cause your right it is an open door after that. Thanks

You know, back in the war time when people still felt patriotic and trusted their government they would have gone along with this out of a sense of duty and maybe even felt pride in it. The fact that we now feel a sense of injustice at the idea shows how far the our trust in our 'rulers' has fallen. When they stopped caring for the people, the people began to stop caring for the nation and started losing trust in general.

I think keeping quiet about what the extent of your skills are and keeping a low profile would be one thing to do. Stay off their radar.

You said it. The people no longer have confidence in their governments.
