For some people, Kroto is often used as feed for domestic birds or fishing baits. In addition it can also be made as a composition of pest control is widely used by farmers.

Type of ants that can be cultivated

Not all types of ant rangrang can be breeding or cultivated. Only certain types of ants can produce Kroto which can then be utilized.
In Indonesia, the ant rangrang that can be cultivated is an ant derived type Oecophylla smaragdina. The original habitat of these ants is in some Asian countries and some places in Northern Australia.

Prepare a cage and ant nest

Feeding

In addition you can also provide additional feed in the form of chicken meat. But chicken meat should be given to the colony of ant rangrang on the stew first so as not to cause the smell of rotten. The feeds are a great source of protein and fat for ant colonies. Meanwhile on the other side of the ant colony rangrang not only need protein and fat alone as a source of food intake.

Feeding the ant colonies should not be done indiscriminately. There are several techniques that need attention. First, use a flat placemat such as a plate or tray to place the feed. After that the container containing the feed is placed on the side or top of the paralon.

For sugar-shaped feed, the ideal size is every 200 ml of water in use to dissolve sugar as much as 1 to 2 tablespoons. Use clean water and it is ripe for ant colonies to remain in a healthy condition.

Harvest Period

According to theoretical calculations, Kroto cultivation can be harvested at the time the ant colony has a cycle (life cycle) for 15 to 20 days. This calculation begins from the larvae's egg until it grows into a large ant.

Harvest can be done when the ant colony's nest has begun to look crowded and full of kroto or eggs are bright white color. However, if the cultivation process of this new kroto enter the early stages, eggs and kroto-kroto should be allowed to breed.
