THE FIRST VIDEO OF OUR NEW SHEEP

in #homesteading7 years ago

Two were free and the other is STEEM-powered!

In case you missed my recent post, we got some sweet sheep for our homestead. Two were offered to us by some generous friends to bless us and then we purchased one more from them to bless them, so we wound up with two ewes and one ram.

So far they have been working out very well for us. I share a bit about why we love our new sheep in this video. Enjoy it!

OUR NEW SHEEP!

These were a huge blessing for us, and we are looking forward to see what they can do when it comes to mowing the yard and reproducing. Although we do plan on using them as a food supply, we will also look into using their wool for spinning yarn, which should be an adventure in itself!

So far, although they are a little afraid sometimes, they are getting along great with the children. We also let them meet a few rabbits earlier, which was a lot of fun. I hope that you enjoyed the video!

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

In other news steemit kilts will soon be available for purchase. The kilts will come it a plaid of blues matching the steem logo. In addition to being sporty they offer both air conditioning and plausible deniability when around sheep.

That sounds great!

@papa-pepper I like that POS=Proof of Sheep !
If you wash them in WOOLITE would that be POCS=Proof of Clean Sheep ??

You have a regular farm there. That's so cool you guys know how to process the wool and will be able to make the yarn. I have looked into how to do that even though I have no sheep myself. Just seemed like something good to know. Best wishes.

I didn't know about the littering from this breed! That is perfect for you if you are planning on using them for food! I really hope they are in lamb already. I can't wait to see their progress! She is pretty good size for a young ewe! You have awesome friends :)

Yes, it seems that we have a lot of awesome friends.

She's beautiful @papa-pepper!
You are going to need a sheep dog in short order!!! Holy gestation rate...you're potentially going to be lambing on a very regular basis. You'll need an App for that...maybe someone can build you a Steemit Lambing App....

It really does look like we could get a lot of lambs in a short amount of time. We will see. Thanks!

good lambs ,, keep many, then buddy of love with others again, so that the seeds of the sheep more widespread.

Sheep wool is very warm, my grandmother still spins the wool and knits us socks for the winter. You have excellent farming, but it requires a lot of work.

Thank you for the heads up, but we are not afraid of a lot of hard work. That wool will be an added bonus that we will appreciate. Thank you!

sheep are easy to keep and dont have much work and you chose a good breed, we once had merino sheep and those needed some work but had a lot of wool, those seem like they breed fast so in two years you will be having a couple of sheeps in your farm, great work

Great info! I had no idea they could have litters or produce 2x litters/year!

Well that sheeps are cute. ♥♥♥
