in #homesteadphotography7 years ago (edited)

Hello again everyone! I apologize for this announcement post being a couple of days late. We have a mobile hotspot and it can be unreliable or seem to run out of data before the month ends. So now, about this week’s contest.

Homesteading Photography Contest - Winners.png

The theme for this week was Goods Made On The Homestead. This week we had 9 entries. One thing that I can say for sure is that our homesteading community has a wide and diverse set of talents and skills. Overall, I was very impressed. Now, to the winners for the week.

First place goes to …… @minismallholding. They will receive 1.25 sbd. To get a better look, there original post is here.

Second goes to @freedompoint. They will receive .75 sbd. To see some of their handmade knives, the original post is here.

This week’s honorable mentions are @hopfarmnc and @bghandmade. They will receive .25 sbd each.

To see @hopfarmnc’s post about their goods, you can look here.

If you want to see more pictures, @bghandmade’s post is here.

Thank you all again for your submissions this week. My hope was to bring awareness to those making and selling goods to others here on steemit. So now for next week’s theme. The theme for Week 6 will be going back to one that I really enjoyed looking at and the theme for week #6 will be Wildlife/Nature. So for this week, I want to see some of the wildlife or nature is around the homestead. This can be in the form of plants, animals, park-like scenes, or even all three.

Similar to the other contests, 50% of the liquid sbd from this post will be given to the winner and 25% of it will be given to the one who places in second which will be distributed after the post payout.

The rules are:

  1. One entry per person
  2. Upvote this post to increase the rewards for the winners (not required, but a resteem would be appreciated)
  3. Please use #homesteadphotography as one of your tags and leave a link in the comments below
  4. You will have until this post pays out to get in your entries

I look forward to looking at and reading your entries! Thanks for looking and best of luck!

Is making a post required, or can we enter by just putting a picture here in the comments? I really enjoy participating in the photo challenges, but I don't like making so many posts per day. Anyway, upvoted and resteemed because it is an awesome challenge!

Yes, you could put your photo in the comments. I know some like to make a post so they can still get some monetary reward for their entry, but a photo here will work too. Thanks for the support and I look forward to your entry!

HOMESTEAD PHOTOGRAPHY ENTRY - Wildlife / Nature
This is from about 5 years ago, taken with a now dead digital camera. This is the place we stayed while we got some infrastructure started on our land, about 10 miles from here. That "pond" is actually the pasture where we kept Bessie, the river flooded in the night and we were up about 4 AM moving chickens and cows in the dark. Got everyone high and dry, and then watched this amazing sunrise.

You might say "Fishy, where is the wildlife?" as this is a "Wildlife / Nature" contest.

I would have to reply "Did you read it? We were moving chickens and a cow out of a flooded pasture in the middle of the night. It was one of the wildest nights of MY life..." :)

Congratulations to the winners!!Have nice day/night all.

You have received an upvote from STAX. Thanks for being a member of the #steemsilvergold community and opting in (if you wish to be removed please follow the link). I know that feeling with the internet!
Thank you, what a lovely surprise. I'm intrigued by those knives though!

I'm a little busy this week so I'll just post the photograph here.

One of our great delights is when the day lilies begin to bloom. Strategically positioned by our front door everyone gets to enjoy them. I seem to take a lot of pictures of flowers. Not because I have a particular thing for flowers but so I can identify them later. I've found that a good photo and a good book works wonders for my ignorance.

These are very nice looking flowers! I think there are some growing around our mailbox. They bring a lot of color that is different from many of the others that grow. Great Job!

They're common and come in many colors. Some folks get into them just like orchids or African violets.

Congrats to the winner. Some really good looking arts and crafts from some seriously talented people. :)

Thank you for the honorable mention @knowledge-seeker!

Here is my entry into your homesteadphotography week 6 contest!
