My Honeymoon in Aruba

So my wife and I decided we needed to start seeing some of the world. What better time than your honeymoon, Right? It was beautiful. The water was so clear and gorgeous. Our honeymoon was the first time I've actually seen my wife relax. That is a switch that never gets flipped for her, so that alone was worth it.

If you live in the States, it is a very enlightening experience actually going to another country. It seems as though once you are in(living there), its just so much of a struggle to get out. The wall they want to build isn't to keep people out, it's to keep people there.
Anyways, sorry got a little off topic there, back to the honeymoon. So the people of Aruba were so kind. We attended an event in which they told some of the history of the island. Some of it was a 'tourist' attraction, kind of they had to do it to keep interest. It was still rather interesting, they taught some of the language, Papiamento. There are 90 different nationalities and 12 different religions on the island.
We were there for about a week. We would wake up, got get some Belgium waffles, Aruba is a Dutch colony after all. After our wonderful breakfast we would head down the coast, go swimming and do a little bit of Snorkeling. My wife and I aren't really drinkers, which is a good thing, alcohol is slightly expensive. Long story short we had an amazing time, and were reluctant to make our journey back to the states.

There weren't any arguments over race or religion, both seem to be a daily ordeal in the US. Its just eye opening that 'our' problems don't translate to the rest of the world. It was also very obvious that the television needs to be turned off. You are so misinformed just watching five minutes, not to mention the normal crap on Facebook. I'm hoping that steemit, helps sort out most of the horror Facebook flows through. And if I see another ad, after watching 2 seconds of video, ha.
Aruba is such a beautiful place and it was so heart breaking that we as humans are so destructive. The plastic that washes ashore is just horrific. I'm sure the wildlife ends up so entangled in it.

The pictures do the beach no justice, nor does it show the mass amounts of plastic and trash that had washed ashore. The wife took most of the pictures aside from the top one of her of course, so she was trying not to take pictures of the trash.
