Bitcoin Price- What is the real story behind this bloody massacre?
Bitcoin price took a major hit and dropped to $6,700 on Thursday, according to CoinDesk. The cryptocurrency is down nearly 30 percent in the last 24 hours alone.
Bitcoin has lost more than $1 billion in market value in just over a week. However, it's not all bad news as bitcoin still remains the world's most secure digital currency by virtue of its robust network and open-source code.
Bitcoin prices are recovering from their recent losses but continue to fall from record highs. The cryptocurrency fell below $7,000 for the first time since June 28, when it hit an all-time high of about $8,000 per coin.
Bitcoins are now trading around $5,950 on Coinbase, down about 2 percent for the day following a recent plunge that saw prices drop to as low as $6,100.
