Family house in Japan
Tato Architects studio was founded by Yo Shimada, following his art degree from Kyoto University.
This house is home to a couple and two children and is located in the Yamasak countryside in Japan. The architecture studio has found appropriate solutions to a family life in a mountainous region where the weather is sometimes hostile. The architect wanted to create a light and stable interior climate developed on three volumes arranged on a platform. For the overall design, Yo Shimada was inspired by the agricultural buildings that populate the landscape.
