In addition to having a strong economic status, the most loyal Scandinavian government gave parental special leave compared to other countries. No wonder, if the Scandinavian government always reaches the highest rank for the title of the country with the best parenting.

The following Scandinavian cultural values should also be observed, such as:

Let the child play dirty

The average parent in another country, forbid his children to play dirty, the children in Scandinavia were left to dig the ground and trample the mud. Even the activities are included in the official course material for children. Parents in Scandinavia also appreciate the messy play. They realize it is an important part of childhood. According to them, allowing children to dig up the ground and play dirty is very good for health, because it can help a strong immune system, improve bowel health, reduce the risk of asthma, allergies and, make the child feel better.

Free to play after school

If it refers to the habits of children in America, They have a busy extracurricular schedule. On average they are also afraid of foreigners, natural disasters, traffic, legal regulations, and unannounced visits from Child Protective Services. It keeps many US kids under virtual house arrest. Very different from children in Scandinavia, who are given the freedom to do anything. When aged 9-10 years, they follow the activities they choose after school, on foot, cycling, or using public transport. Scandinavian parents believe it helps them learn how to assess risks, make good decisions, and take responsibility. Apparently, according to the research of some experts, shows that they (parents) are right.

Don't force children to learn early

Almost all the children in Scandinavia spend as much time as possible to play. They have plenty of time for it, because formal schooling does not start until the age of six or seven. Most parents and pre-school teachers agree that children will learn what they need to learn when they are ready, and there is no pressure to teach children how to read and write early.

Appreciate nature

Children in Scandinavia love TV and other electronic devices, but not excessive. Their parents have a powerful trick for children not to depend on TV or gadgets, namely: Friluftsliv (how to survive or spend time in nature). However, they do not have to live in the countryside. Just touring around the neighborhood, making camp in the park. Friluftsliv is a powerful way for children to understand their role, and how to be a good person. Basically, that's the most important lesson and applies at all times.

There was no bad weather, only bad clothes

They are not so concerned about the weather, including making it a reason to forbid children from playing outside. All they do is give the children the best clothes and give them permission to play, despite the bad weather. What are the benefits? Children are not susceptible to infection, have better eyesight, stay in shape and are believed to develop an immune system.
