What to do in Hua Hin day 1 and day 2

in #huahin7 years ago (edited)

You might be unfamiliar to Hua Hin but it is a popular vacation destination amongst the locals. Especially the Bangkok Thais, the fact that it is just 2-3 hours car ride away from Bangkok. The local always relate Hua Hin to a romantic and elegance destination for young couples who are seeking for a short getaway. I would recommend all of you to visit at least once before it become excessively commercialized and flooded with tourists.

First time in Hua Hin and it totally stole my heart. Compared to Phuket and other beach destinations in Thailand. Hua Hin is relatively quiet and serene. Not a single sight of trashy hooker (like Pattaya), pubs or tour group. Just rows of palm trees, cafes, private resort, beaches and clear blue skies.

My friends know that I shun the sun like anything, but at Hua Hin, everything was so pretty that all I wanted to do was to spend the entire day basking in the sunshine, feel the powdery soft sand between my toes and sip cocktails whilst listening to the crashing of the waves. With my beach hat and SPF of course. Haven been out in the sun for so long in awhile..

So for the first day, we booked a private city transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin via an app called KLOOK https://www.klook.com/ . We received a convenient pick up directly from our apartment to Marrakesh Spa Resort Hua Hin. Its about 70usd for a single trip. I would recommend you guys to use this app if you do not know any local driver as it is so convenient especially if you don't speak Thai. You can also book some day tours with meals and transportation included.

Upon arrival..
Marrakesh Resort was stunning... Almost felt like we were really in Morocco.

There was no time to settle down and we went straight to horse riding after checking in. It was little over priced thou, 400 baht=12 usd/pax for 30mins) and the horses were a little too tiny for us. Poor horses :(

Then lunch at doggie haven- Inu Café

The cafe is located very discreetly in a small road/soi off the main road, just north of central Hua Hin. The exterior is nothing fancy, but just an old school orange brick wall with a sturdy white gate, covered with lush greenery. It looks like an average Thai home. Nonetheless expect to find many adorable and friendly Shiba running about or just wagging their tails to the aroma of the food that was brought to your table.

Food was yumss! You can choose between local Thai food or western delights like burgers and pasta.

When the night falls..
Now there really isn’t any thing much to do in Hua Hin at night since the night scene here is not as happening as Bangkok. So checking out the Cicada Night Market is most likely on your check list. This market only opens from Friday to Sunday, from 4pm to 11pm and its just 2 mins tuk tuk ride from Marrakesh Resort. As we arrived on a Sunday, it's definitely a must to visit on our first day here.

I was surprised to see this little creative town in the middle of Hua Hin. If you like Art, this is definitely a piece of heaven for you. You will find yourself surrounded by artists, be it amateurs or professionals gather to showcase and perhaps make a bit of cash selling their creations.
