Kuta Cane - The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FKIP) of Malikussaleh University held a social and educational action (AKSOSPEN) in Kuta Cane, Southeast Aceh, on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. The action was carried out to help the people affected by the floods in early November. The activity involved the BEM FKIP Unimal, the BEM FKIP of Gunung Lauser University, and the people of Lhokseumawe City, Bireuen Regency, and Lhoksukon. The chairman of BEM FKIP, Mulyadi, said that the social and educational action was a form of concern for the BEM FKIP UNIMAL community affected by the floods. He explained that the social action was in the form of the provision of a number of basic necessities and a free market in two locations, namely Kampung Baru, Semadam District, and Kuning Tiga, Bambel District. The distribution of sembako in the form of rice, cooking oil, and other food was received directly by the local people. “The distribution of sembako was welcomed with enthusiasm by the flood-affected people. They expressed their gratitude for the help provided," he said. He also conveyed that, in addition to the distribution of sembako, they also held a free market in the form of a free clothes stall with the slogan "take what you need and give as much as you can" which was opened in Kampung Baru. "The stall was also welcomed with enthusiasm by the flood-affected people," he said. “We were assisted by friends from the BEM FKIP of Gunung Lauser University in the process of distributing donations to flood-affected people,” said Mulyadi. Mulyadi hopes that the social and educational action can be beneficial for the people of Kuta Cane. "Hopefully, with this activity, it can have a positive impact on the community that has experienced the previous disaster," he concluded.
