Who are you? Tell us anything and everything you’d like us to know about you!

I am Penelope, aka Penny D Photo, aka MeanMommy33 or Photography Nomad on Steemit and my description is SO me :) Hopeless Romantic - Gypsy Heart - Free Spirit - Intellectually Curious / Photographer, Translator, @ocd Curator, Theologian-Sociologist, Acting/Singing/Piano. I’m into photography and languages since I remember myself (coming from a photographer Dad and a polyglot translator Mom). I’ve lived in Athens, Paris, Rome and now Copenhagen that’s why I consider myself an International Citizen by now. I love all kinds of stuff, but I think enough of that now as the rest of the questions might reveal much more :smile:

What makes your heart smile?

My other half, the Broke Traveler aka @creutzy on Steemit. We’ve been together for almost 3 years, and we share the same passions: Traveling, Photography and Food. It is crazy to how many places we’ve been together so far! He is an amazing Travel Photographer [I hate to admit that probably better than me, but I specialize on Architecture and Portraits mostly so I guess it’s ok haha], a loving boyfriend and a rare, talented, intelligent, amazing man!

How did you get onto Steemit?

Well, @creutzy got me into it... and crypto. I had no idea what all of this was. He joined the 14th of May 2017 and I joined the 17th -and our journey together as Steemians begun!

Where do you want to die?

In a church during an earthquake OR in my bed while sleeping or having sex ;)

What’s something you DON’T like about all this new technology?

It is very simple: I don’t get it as much. I’m a very anti-tech, old fashioned person, so all this is new to me. Not because I’m that old (I’m not ;) ), just because I was always avoiding on purpose. But now, I have to get into that more since I have my own projects in mind already!

What mistake do you keep making and why?

Hanging out with (and trusting) the wrong people because I end up getting hurt in the end.

Is there anything you wish you could unlearn?

That’s a firm NO -I wanna learn as much as I can in this life so I don’t think I would take anything out of my learning list. Even the bad experiences teach us stuff so I wouldn’t want to avoid them either.

If there was something you could un-do, what would it be?

Oh well now… I would un-do a bunch of stuff I guess…but every time I think this way, I realize that if I did, I would change the rest… so maybe nothing in the end? ;)

Imagine that you magically have the ability to keep being alive without sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

Be on Steemit more :P Haha, I’m kidding! I think I would read more books (actual paper books!)- something that lately I don’t do as much as I used to.

What’s the stupidest thing you’ve done that actually turned out pretty well?

I ‘gave’ myself at the first date even though I thought (and declared!) I won’t. I think it wasn’t that bad after all ;) [yes, that goes for my current boyfriend - to avoid misunderstandings hahaha!]

What makes your belly ache with laughter?

When @creutzy tickles me - he does it insanely well, or when he imitates me, or when he says exaggerated jokes that end up being funny! I think at this point of my life, only he makes me hurt of laughter!!!

Tell us about 1 significant event in your life that really made you who you are.

Death had a huge impact in my life and forming my character within the years. First it was a close friend in high-school [18, car accident], then my Dad [57, heart attack], and recently my grandpa [91 -at least-, lung infection]. When loved ones die you think differently, and yes, it happened to me, multiple times already.

What would be the scariest monster you could imagine?

I don’t know… a soul-eating Godzilla like, saliva dripping monster? Weird question to answer haha!

What does Steemit mean for you?

It is my ‘way out’. Most of the times.

If you could change your name, what would you change it to?

Loretta. My grandpa’s name was ‘Loris’, the Russian equivalent of Laurence (even though he was Greek, his Mom was into Dostoyevsky and named him after a book character…) - Laurent in French or Lorenzo in Italian. My parents named me after my grandma, Penelope, but for years they were thinking that Loretta would be much cooler. I was like ‘well, a bit late for that now huh??’:smile: And God knows how much I adored my grandpa! <3

Which person inspires you the most and why do they inspire you?

My boyfriend, my Mom, the memory of my Dad and beautiful minds around the World -dead or alive- inspiring me every day to do new things and to realize my ideas!

What are you insecure about?

My age.

Describe your ideal life.

I don’t think there’s such a thing. But I guess being calm would be my number one in any situation. Feeling secure, in an environment I like, with a person I love. Simple stuff… is it too much to ask?

Have you ever saved someone’s life?

Unfortunately, not -yet.

What do other people think is weird about you?

Haha! ME! My whole! But I find it flattering, not insulting ;)

What do you think is one of the best things about you?

That I care. About everyone - and everything. Maybe even too much sometimes.

What’s one responsibility you really wish you didn’t have?

Money. Whatever that entails. I remember simpler times in school that we didn’t have to worry about bills and making a living. I miss those times!

If you had a personal flag, what would be on it?

A heart!

If a genie granted you 3 wishes right now, what would you wish for?

Is this a beauty pageant? Shall I say ‘World Peace’ first? Haha… No, I think I’m more selfish than that so I would probably wish:

1. Eternal health (if not immortality) for everyone I love
2. No more heartbreaks and
3. Enough money to live a decent, interesting life until I die - not too old.

What do you think about when you’re by yourself?

Oh, you don’t wanna know… A million things. A gazillion things. All at the same time, panicking! I guess the past or the future. Never the present - I always miss the present.

What would you want to be written on your tombstone?

Love Person.

Who is the person you trust most?

My Mom.

What’s your favourite word?

In English, I have two: Peculiar and Pathetic :)

Who is your fave (or one of your favourite) Steemians and why?

Sorry, I can’t just stay to the obvious one! Besides my beloved @creutzy, on my top5 are @sebi99p -a real life friend, game and space expert-, @themonetaryfew -a Student of Money and great SF support for me!-, @yusaymon and @natureofbeing -Steemit Friends and excellent artists!-. I have a special place in my heart already for certain people I met during SF or people I work with on Steemit, but then the list would be too long so I think I’ll stop here for now ;)

If you were arrested with no explanation, what would your friends and family assume you had done?

Murdered someone. :P

When you looked in the mirror first thing this morning, what was the first thing you thought?

This particular morning I was feeling so low that I didn’t even look to be honest. But usually I think ‘meh’. A trick actually is to smile to yourself when you look in the mirror. I know it sounds a bit paranoid, but it helps the good mood to rise indeed!

What’s the most ridiculous fact you know?

In which country they have more sex in Europe :P

What is something that you just recently realized that you are embarrassed you didn’t realize earlier?

I’m not easily embarrassed - so I would have to say nothing on this one ;) Easily offended yes, embarrassed, nah - you need to try A LOT to make me feel ashamed [shameless Mean Mommy :P ]

What is your nickname?

Loop - school nickname coming from Penelope Lopy Loop ;)

As a Human Of Steemit, how do you contribute to Steemit?

My most recent idea and -finally!- project is @steemsugars, a new account promoting Steemit to more women. It is a fact that the female population on Steemit -and cryptocurrencies in general-is limited, and most of the times it is because of lack of information or interest. I want to change that asap! We need more girl power in here, and with excellent girls like @stellabelle, @patrice, @sjennon, @immarojas, @things, @bearone, @dreamiely, @natureofbeing, @nelyp, @ruth-girl, @teodora and @seyiodus backing the project up, I think we’re on the right path for that!
I am also an OCD curator, for the Italian language, a member of the @spaminator team and also volunteered to help with translating content into Greek supporting the Greek Community on Steemit @greek-trail this way. I will also - hopefully - get involved in @sndbox and Utopian soon [languages you see!]. I’m very active on Steemit and I’ll try to keep this on. The World needs a clean, original, authentic, interesting place, our SteemLand [name credit: @creutzy]! Steem on people - expressing ourselves is all we got left! :)
