I'm against the casual killing of snakes, even poisonous ones.
If however this dangerous snake had taken up residence in the haystack it probably would have been killed to protect the workers. Most snakes are territorial creatures.
Fortunately this snake wisely left the scene completely and saved its skin.
I saw a baby rock python being beaten with a stick recently. Fortunately an enlightened man saved it from serious damage and removed it. While I didn't want to hold it I had a good look at this amazing animal and was very happy to see it let go in the bush.
