Hungarian Parliament
My visit to the Hungarian Parliament was one of the highlights of the vacation to Budapest. Located close to the Danube, this amazing building is wonderfully beautiful both inside and out.
My first view of the building was from a cruise ship on the Danube. This gave the building some perspective in size and also in it's location in the middle of the capital city.
Inside the building and up the stairs to the first floor, you are presented with a en exquisitely designed interior, with gold and gold leaf showing almost everywhere.
While we did see a lot of the building, some parts of the building were off limits for visitors, due to the building being in use for the government.
During the tour, I was able to see the Holy Crown, but visitors are not allowed to take any photos within the room where the Holy Crown is located.
One thing I took from my visit to the Parliament Building is that beauty can be everywhere. It's not just in nature, but it can be created by the talent and skills of many people. We should admire such wonderful works of art for what they are - a testament to the skills and abilities of humanity.
