RE: Hurricane Irma Harvey Jose and Katia Earthquake Indicators

in #hurricane7 years ago (edited)

It definitely is, the Eye is currently over Florida, that said according to the data the real earthquake risk is on the California Vancouver fault line as it is historically due for an earthquake but not many hurricanes hit on that side of the ring of fire due to the lower water temperatures they mainly see storms. The greatest near term concern would be the side effects of wildfires causing land movements due to the forest fires weakening topsoil sediments and acting similar to landsoil erosion in Haiti, due to a deforested landscape. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-do-hurricanes-hit-the-east-coast-of-the-u-s-but-never-the-west-coast/
