The Hurricane Update from Tampa,Fl
Right now in Tampa it's 11:46 am and you can hear the fear in the air. There are barely any noise to be heard even car noises. The only people still outside are the ones staying to see the hurricane through. The stores have closed around 6pm last night and many gas stations have been out of gas since Thursday. It's scary.
The sun is up and bright in the sky, and the trees are being shaken around by the wind. The clouds are moving faster than usual across the clear sky that is slowly getting darker. The birds to be aware of what's about to happen, as they fly in panic.
The atmosphere is on edge, many house owners who are staying are boarding up their windows and so are supermarkets. There is an universal language being spoken even in this quiet desperation. The wait is slowly eating people alive and driving them crazy. Tampa, a city of noise and crazy traffic has been turned into a dull city over night.
This will be my first time experiencing something like this. I moved here in late February after graduating college in Maine and well the sunshine state has done me well to this point. I am following the locals as to prepare for what's about to happen. My girlfriend and I are praying, and also hoping for the best in our apartment. We got the necessity such as water, food that we cooked in case of power outage, snack and of course some wine just in case the wait gets to terrible to bear.
I could honestly say that we are ready, at least I think so. The windows are taped, the balcony is cleared of anything and everything.
