UNIQUE BEACHES IN SPAIN MUST SEEN!

in #i8 years ago (edited)

Hi steemit!
Nowdays, im an a active part of the turistic industry. I really love my work: speaking with people, giving tips and advices about the city, feel that they enjoy holiday in Malaga, and after all find a small peace of paper with revies, little thing but a means a lot for me and makes me I feel full of energy and my life has a bit more sense :)
Yes, I do love my job. :)

Spain has millions of turists every year loking for a affordable country wuth good services, ancient monuments and enjoy the gastronomy, nature and the sea. From my point of view, to maintain that balance its the key to keep this industry.

Durning the months of juny and agoust, more than 24 millions of turists have visited our country this year. Its a good new for me, andI am glad.My work contains managing a hostel and tourism is my main source of incomes.

But I always ask myself, whydo the turists choose this period? If I would have to choose the month to visit spain, I had traveled on september-ostober. It's cheaper, the sun is less strong, the sea watter still warm, and the most important point: you dont need to share the beach with hundred of bathers around XD

Is it really necesary to fight so hard to get one square metre of sand ??

I am going to demonstrate that other way is possible :)

Enjoy it!

1. Weekend getaway. Cape Gata. Escullos beach.

This is where the post actually starts. So, is it really possible to find idyllic paradises in Spain?
Yes. Almeria is one of these places. One of the six provinces of Andalucía, (South of Spain) has one of my favourites routes of beaches in Spain. Lets go!

I rent a car at the airport. Probably you are asking yourself Why she doesn't have a car? Well, I live in the historical center of Malaga, my job place is just five minutes walking distance from my home, and it is difficut to find parking at the city centre. Thats why to have one car in this case, belive me ...its a problem. If you are going to rent one, be sure you get one with any risk insurance included. I paid 33€/day.

As we are approaching our destination the first thing that strikes me is the dry landscape : vegetation has disappeared and everything seems reddish coloured.

Almería has got a wonderfull desert where hundred of western films were made. If you like western films, you should visit it;) About films made in Almeria

My destiny is called Cape Gata, one of the most extraordinary and beautiful areas to find wild beaches and virgin nature. There are dozens of beaches, each one is different and unique. Its an a natural park, in an amazing environment classified natural reserve of Biosphere. :)
And here we are! After 3 hours driving we arrived our destiny.

The beach is quiet, almost deserted on september. Only a few of people are exploring it. If you find naked people, dont worry. Its normal here. In fact you can find even naturist communities living in another areas with natural resources. I ll write about them in another post.

The beach is full of little rocks and grey sand, located among natural big volcanic eroded rock formations.

The vegetation is very scarce; Here you can see two long "pitas" (spanish bame if this thing), wich was brought to Europe from America to make fabrics .
After climbing the rocks, we can enjoy of a perfect landscape to stretch and relax muscles before to snorkel (i love it)

From the top of the mountain we find hidden coves of transparent water. Three people are snorkelling.. The view is wonderfull, nothing to remind me the noisy city. Suddenly i feel strange: i feel... lighter. The stress is gone.

Thinking what is the best area to start snorkelling , i feel excited: hundred of fishes, octopus and crabs are waiting for me.

The mediterrano sea is full of life, but carefull, you also can find morenas and sharks. Yes, sharks! 0o. If you didnt know about that, mediterranean sea is full of sharks, lot of them white sharks. But dont be worry, we are not parts of their natural diet :) (why dont have sharks in the sea, when there are whales at steemit XD)

Sunset is the signal to change clothes and take my little snorkel equipment. Just have a look to the environment: an oasis in the middle of nowhere!
What else can I ask for?

I hope you will have the opportunity to swim once in these crystal-clear waters.

So remember: if you are loking for a quiet, virgin and clean place, this area could be a great destination not far away from Malaga.
And one more secret to mantain to virgin, pick up your trash before go. Everybody did it here, so love the nature, care of it!

*P.D. Next (mini) post: Sharks in mediterranean. ¿myth or truth?
