When I see pictures like the one above I realize just how much of an art form photography can truly be. It takes a certain eye to capture the true feel of the subject of a picture. From the lighting and shadows to the correct angle and focal point it takes a true artist to capture such a setting in it's glorious splendor. Photography has never really been my forte. Using words like forte is more my forte. The artist who took the image above, well not that's a different story entirely.

The earliest surviving photograph was taken by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in 1826 or 1827 (cite: Wikipedia - History of Photography) and was more a product of invention than a work of art.

In this current day and age practically everyone carries around a camera in their pocket in the form of a wireless phone and imagery quality is measured in MEGApixels. Photography is now more popular than at any other time in history but it still takes a true artist who can capture a moment in time that makes anyone viewing it realize that they are looking at a piece of art rather than just a picture.

@irvinesimages just so happensto be one these artists and is credited with the first image above. His imagery is absolutely stunning and should be appreciated.

I agree 100%!! His images are always stunning! :)

The picture you picked of his is another of his I really like, I can't wait to see the ones he is hold back. He really is an artist when it comes to that camera eye, the timing and well the getting to where he needs to get the shot he sees.

I can hardly believe that someone can take such great photos. The pictures pull me in to the awe inspiring surroundings that he has managed to capture. I agree with you on how he got to the spots he needed to for those photos.

It's like he has a built in 6th sense of I need to be over there to really make this a magical picture, and somehow he finds his way to that perfect picture taking spot.

I'm calling sorcery, that has to be it. ;-D

Great entry. :) Thanks for the nice words about my father! And the spotlight and also that was cool to see the oldest survive picture! Strangely enough I don't think I've ever seen that before! I've seen some old ones, but I don't remember ever seeing that one before. Cool!
Also, yeah.. Almost everyone has a camera these days! But your right, it does take a certain amount of experience and a certain "eye" I think to really produce some of these kinds of shots. Thanks again for the great entry, the nice words and for helping to get the word out about my fathers photography! :) Hope you're doing well on your travels! (I assume you're still traveling anyways, also I saw in the Marketplace that iexplore might be interested in renting one of your places? That would be super cool!!)

Yes we are still travelling. 2 more days until we are in Yellowstone National Park and parked for 3.5 months. That would be cool if iexplore rented one of our places. I know eventually someone from Discord or Steemit will.
