THE IMAGINARIUM OF DR. PARNASSUS (2009) REVIEW

Starting off, this is already so rich in cinematography.

I feel sad for the drunk lady who has the sick fuck for a boyfriend.

When Heath Ledger is saved, Anton saves him by hanging on to his crotch. No homo.

We see Dr. Parnassus using Tarot Cards. So somewhere down the road, he was familiar with “The Dark Arts” as they say in Harry Potter?

Anton is funny when drunk!

The fuschia dressed lady is eating out of the palm of Tony’s hand.

And probably one of the best lines I’ve heard, delivered the way Johnny Depp and possibly Heath Ledger could’ve said it:

Nothing is permanent. Not even death.

The soundtrack is so good!!!!!!

Anton is hysterical!! “Please unzip me!” hahaha!

Hey! Go Valentina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Face off with the devil and WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Artistically, beautiful.

The costumes are great.

Because of Heath Ledger’s untimely demise, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell make appearances in this film. It seems thrown together because of his death toward the end.

The story itself isn’t bad. It was the execution of that knocked points off for me. If it was the same actor all the way through, or had a different actor for each world Heath Ledger was in, then I would probably like it more.

The CGI could’ve been better.

I was expecting the pitchfork devil, or at least for him to have horns, or something obvious to mark him as Satan. But he was an old geezer with a cane and a trenchcoat.

I still really liked it!!!

All in all, I give $12.00 USD/ $13.50 USD.
