Our brain struggles to keep us alive even after we die...are we evolving to be immortal?

Why do we die?
We die because our body is not fully efficient. Our organs get rusty and weary as we grow older. If we somehow manage to dodge all the bullets coming towards us, never choke to death having that favourite piece of cake or prevent slipping on the bathroom floor to crack our head and make it to our 70s or 80s...our vision begins to get blurry, ears decieve us, liver dies out, our heart and lungs give up and any of them can be the reason of our death. Thats INEFFICIENCY!!! Evolution as you know is a constant process and we evolve to adapt and exist. We evolve to be more efficient and push our death further and further. In this ongoing process of evolution...Immortality cannot be impossible. Well lets see what goes on and happens in our brain after we die.

After you die, clinically, your heart goes completely non-functional, but, your brain continues to work. Moments before your death, your brain receives a surge of electricity which is still a mystery as to why it happens. Now your brain begins to lose oxygen as the heart is not functioning anymore, but you will still be conscious for 2-20 seconds after death because the cerebral cortex of your brain can last without oxygen. This part of your brain is responsible for thinking and decision making.

By the time, all your reflexive and muscular abilities are gone. Your Brain tries to last but is now experiencing its last minutes. Brain cells are activating chemical pathways that would lead to their ultimate death.

At this point, most of your brain is dead but one final place does not quit so easy. Its the memory center which stores the most emotional memories that you have experienced. It is the last part of our brain to shut down. When doctors turned off life support for terminal patients declared clinically dead, their brain seemed working for more than 10 minutes after death.

2 days after death, more than 1000 genes are actively working and some of these have vital functions such as counteracting stress, stimulating inflamation and firing up the immune system. Its quite astonishing that some of these genes are switched on during embryonic development. Is it possible that the brain is trying to save itself by reverting the body to a cellular stage?

Whats more inexplicable is that, some of these promote CANCER GROWTH. Our brain ignites cancer in our body and it does that trying to stay ALIVE? Why would the body initiate cancer growth 2 days after death? What might be the purpose of that mysterious surge of electricity and brain promoting cancer in a dead body? The answer lies in our DNA but still we are not able to fully decode its information.

NOW, this leads to a much bigger question. Is our understanding of death false? Is it ethical to declare a person dead? Is autopsy and organ donations of dead people right while the brain is still trying its best to continue living? ARE WE EVOLVING TO BE IMMORTAL? Only time and research will answer these.

Thank you for giving me some of your time and making it to the bottom of this. Please let me know what are your thoughts about immortality and our brain still working after death. Stay tuned friends...yes i am new to this but i will keep posting contents like this... about facts and science.
