The Power And Importance Of Sleep

in #immunity4 years ago (edited)

Sleep is important. It gives our bodies a chance to rest and repair, and aside from feeling bad when you don’t get enough, you are actually doing damage to your body when you miss out on sleep. When you are sleeping your body is hard at work fighting off infections and repairing damaged tissues. If you don’t take enough time to let your body do that, it takes longer to heal. During a pandemic is the last time you want your body behind on its self-healing abilities.

If you are struggling to sleep, take stock of your sleep habits. Make sure you are going to bed and waking at the same time daily. Make sure your room is cool, dark, and devoid of noise, and use room darkening shades, fans, or a white noise machine when needed.

Taking care of yourself is priority number one right now. Learn more about sleep and immunity from the infographic below.
