Incarnation/ Creative Repression
“Imagine a mountain of solid rock six miles long, six miles wide, and six miles high. Once every hundred years a crow flies by with a silk scarf in its beak, just barely caressing the top of the mountain with it. The length of time it would take to wear away that mountain is how Buddha described the journey to enlightenment. That’s the game of incarnations. In the vastness of time any one incarnation is like the blink of an eye in relation to a seventy-year life span. Every time you blink, that’s like another incarnation. Every thought form is like a lifetime. A realized being is so completely in the present moment that every time a thought appears, there is creation, preservation, and destruction of the entire universe.”

Rarely do I let my bird out. I had a lucid dream years ago where I was the bird with a matte black eye. First, I tapped on a window pane with my beak. There was no answer so I flew away into the sun.
The imagery stuck with me and I knew I had to put it on my body. I gave the artist a couple reference photos and let him know he could use my whole back. He chose the colors, style, and added the blue ribbon. I didn’t hear the quote from Ram Dass until it’s completion 3 years later.
Sometimes we know things before we “learn” them. Intuition is very powerful. Life has been telling me to trust her for a long time. I’m just beginning to surrender.
The creation that is born in different collaborations is astounding. When we come together and allow for creative space, unprecedented life happens. We’re all channels for each other, each of us pointing back to ourselves.
Lately, I’ve been talking with a friend about a concept for another tattoo. After that shit drawing of the snake I mentioned in a previous post, I realized the idea needs more time and attention.
Our pure nature can’t be hidden, it’s unbridled wildness too powerful to stuff down. Sometimes I get scared to access it because I don’t know what’s going to come out, but that’s the beauty of not being in control.
