Guru is everything in our eternal life

According to a Indian mythology, Indra, the king of heaven was enjoying the luxuries and comforts of heaven watching dance of beautiful apsaras in his court. Somras was also being served to the Devas. All they were enjoying the victory over the Asuras.

Mean while Guru Brihaspati entered the court, but the Devas did not notice him and did not respect to him. The guru hurt by the behavior of Devas, and became very sad. He felt insulted. He thought, "Theyare in the ego of the victory over the Asuras, there was no difference left between the Asuras and the them." He immediately came out of Indra's court.

After some time, when the assembly of gods was over, they came out of intoxication and realized their fault that their guru had visited them and they were unable to pay due respect to him. Indra confessed, 'Whatever we have got today is due to the blessings of Guru Brihaspati, and now we have insulted him under intoxication. We should beg pardon from him.' He went to the residence of the guru but Guru Brihaspati was not there. Distressed by the gods' behavior, he had hidden himself somewhere. The gods made a thorough search for him, but could not find him anywhere.

On the other side, when Shukracharya, the guru of the Asuras, came to know that Guru Brihaspati was insulted by the Devas, he advised the Asuras to attack the Devas by take the advantage of the situation.

As per his direction the Asuras attacked and defeated the Devas badly and accupied the court of heaven, Devas had to run to save their lives. They went to Lord Brahma and said, "Please save us from the Asuras."

Brahma said, "Its all happened because of you only, you have invited this trouble by insulting your guru, under whom you all were safe."

The Devas down their heads and realises their fult, Lord Brahma advised "Now only one way is left. Go to Acharya Vishwaroopa who only can protect you at this moment."

As per the directions of Lord Brahma, all the Devas went to Acharya Vishwaroopa and told him about the incidents that had happened with them, and requested him to protect them from the Asuras.

Acharya said, "How can I trust you? You have insulted your legend guru, If you will gain your lost kingdom, you will insult me as well. I have no faith in you."

Devas and said, "No! We never will repeat the same mistake as we have already learnt a lesson, please save us."

On the request of Indra and Devas compelled the Acharya decided to help them. He used his powers to help the Devas defeat the Asuras and regain their lost kingdom of paradise.

Indra and Devas were very happy to defeat the Asuras. He decided to celebrate the victory with great show. So Indra requested the Acharya to perform the Yajna(Holy fire performance with Mantras) of victory. Acharya adviced to go to Guru Brihaspati and beg pardon for their mistake and said "Your guru is above all, irrespective of your status. Pay due respect to your guru and sages."

Indra realized his mistake went to the Guru stood down his knees and said he wanted to forgive him. The Guru Brihaspati blessed him.
