After the sevaral hesitant, Muhammad finally agreed handed he to Punnu if he became a laundryman, and to . And love affected Punnu gladly complied, though he knew nothing of the trade. Many mishaps occurred, but Sassi and her friends helped him. Muhammad satisfied that no complaint had been heard about washing cloths, he allowed Sassi and Punnu to be married. They were happy and faithful to each other.

When their wedding news spread to Kech Mekran, Punnu’s father sent his three sons to bring back him. The brothers went to Bhambore, congratulated the new couple and presented them with gifts. Sassi and Punnu gave a feast to the brothers and it continued into the late hours of the night.

The brothers gave a drink to Punnu which contained a drug to make him unconscious. As he fell into a heavy slumber, the brothers carried him away. In the morning when Sassi awoke, she found that Punnu was not there, she shocked and guessed the cunning brothers had played a trick on them.

Devastated and lonely Sassi could not forget Punnu. She decided to go Kech Mekran to see her beloved Punnu. She traveled by foot across the desert, calling out his name. After a long walk she felt thirsty, saw a hut and decided to ask for water from the inhabitants.

In the hut there was a shepherd, he was delighted with her beauty, he decided to keep her and tried to get her. Sassi realised that he was bad and his bad desire, she ran away as fast as she could until she die, she gave her life to be respected. The shepherd felt sorry, buried her and sat by her grave as a witness.

At the same time, Punnu upon awakening realised that he was brought up Kech Mekran, rushed back to Bhambore, and though his brothers tried to catch him, he would not heed anything. As he walked, he called out her name. when reached Sassi’s grave came to know of her death, he fell down and left the last breath. The shepherd buried him in a grave next to Sassi’s.
