RE: India Resists: Protests erupt all over the country against Unconstitutional Citizenship Amendment Act!
Oh really!!!
How biased this article could be.....
This is the first time a law has been made on the basis of religion and Muslims haven't been included in the list. Clearly, it's against the ethos of Indian constitution which prohibits STATE to act on the basis of Individual's religion, caste, color and other social tags.
The existing avenues of seeking Indian citizenship for all communities still open in the Citizenship law. The newly added CAA is only to restrict the illegal muslim immigrants. Mind you, I am writing illegal. The official application for citizenship for any person regardless of their religion is still open. This CAA allows non-muslim to get citizenship on the basis of religious persecution in the three countries it has mentioned.
About right to equality- it does not violate, as It is no affecting the citizenship of any Indian.
Are you trying to portray a figure that India should be an open hub for illegal immigrants? Don't you know that on the basis of religion only the partition was done in 1947? Then why to make it an open hub, just to exploit the resources which are meant for the legal citizens of India.
The official figure of illegal migrants on the Eastern border & states is more than 50 million. Can you imagine that! Just to deal with these illegal immigrants this law has been framed.
Regarding the protest that is happening all over India. I must tell you that the silent mass is not protesting does not mean that they are not aware of, but the silent mass never destroys the property( I am quoting silent mass means that anyone who seeks peaceful ways to raise the voice).
The people who truly advocate on freedom of speech don't share those pics which cover violence, destroying public property, etc. So there is clearly a conflict of interest in your article.
Hey @milaan, I will reply to your comment in a new article. Thanks for raising those points. :')) I want to touch each one of them in detail. I am happy that at least Indians have an opinion.
P.S. - This article is biased because it is. I am not a journalist who should adhere to facts and not opinions. Only the inferences based on facts which #Modia does not follow at all. :P Because they are biased too.
Don't know what this means! Freedom of Speech is not complicated. It's about saying whatever you want without the fear of getting censored and showing whatever pictures you want. I am just sharing pictures which #Modia doesn't want the whole world to see. But then, they are out there already. :))
I condemn Violence of any kind. Be it by students or police or anyone for that matter.
