A BRIEF ABOUT HIS ROLE IN UNITING INDIA
At the time of independence in India, there were 562 princely states. Those states were given choice either to join with India or be autonomous. Few states joined with India while some decided to be autonomous.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with his bold charisma used the police force to make the princely states to join Indian union . Thus he is called " Iron Man Of India". Hence the status is named as " Status of Unity".

The date for the inauguration of the statue (October 31, 2018) also marks the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Patel.

Never heard of it. Many Thanks. This sight must be very exciting.

Wow! What an impressive monument
The Taj Mahal is on my bucket list, so I've got to visit this while I'm out there

Thank you so much for sharing<P.S. How does it compare to Nelson's column - which I've never seen despite being in London several times?
