5Sunny-Leone-1.jpgOver the past few years, Sunny Leone, has worked on shedding her image of adult star by looking for roles that offer her an opportunity to act. But, users of technology giant Google, it seems, continue to enjoy her for who she originally was.
The 35-year-old has emerged as the most searched Bollywood celebrity in the last five years, toppling industry bigwigs including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.
Sunny seems far from upset, when she tells mid-day, "My team brought this to my notice recently. It's always a good feeling to see how far fans have got me. I attribute this to my team, whose hard work has got us here."
According to the report, Sunny has the largest fan base in India and the USA, her country of origin and the country she is now a resident of. While the actress hasn't delivered any major hit in the past year, she has actively turned to the digital medium for promotions. Her popularity on the platform has worked in her favour.
Scoring a far second position on the list is Bollywood's blue-eyed boy Salman, who is popular in India, Pakistan and the UAE. Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh has a fan base that spans India, Pakistan, Yemen, Egypt, Oman, Bolivia and Saudi Arabia.
While Sunny has defeated most Indian actresses by a huge margin, Priyanka Chopra has secured second spot on the list. Maximum searches for the actress came from India, Pakistan, USA and Canada. Deepika comes a close third.
From the younger lot, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Tiger Shroff have emerged as most trending celebrities. While Amitabh Bachchan features on the list, he ranks lower, with most of the searches concentrated in India alone.
