Company Overview

PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda or under another name PT PIM is a subsidiary of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) engaged in the urea fertilizer industry and other chemical industries, is the first urea fertilizer factory in Indonesia built by Indonesian sons with national contractors PT Rekayasa Industri , as the first large-scale project entrusted by the Government to national contractors. Established Based on Notary Deed No. Soeleman Ardjasasmita SH. 54 on 24 February 1982, under the name of PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda. The establishment of PT PIM's factory location in Lhokseumawe - North Aceh is based on the availability of natural gas reserves as a source of raw materials, water intake facilities and the presence of port facilities as a place of loading and unloading of plant equipment, and a very strategic location for export destination countries.
The construction of the PIM-1 plant was completed in 1984 with a total investment of US $ 308.4 million, while the PIM-2 Factory was completed in 2005 with a total investment of US $ 310.2 million.

PT PIM's plant consists of:
Urea Prill Factory Unit (Urea Factory 1) with production capacity of 570,000 tons / year, using Mitsui Toatsu Japan technology.
Amonia Factory Unit (Ammonia Factory 1) with production capacity of 386,000 tons / year using American Kellogg technology.
Urea Granule Plant Unit (Urea Factory 2) with production capacity of 570,000 tons / year, using Toyo Access technology from Japan.
Amonia Factory Unit (Ammonia Factory 2) with production capacity of 396,000 ton / year using American Kellogg technology.

The Company's Articles of Association has been amended several times, relating to changes in capital in accordance with Notarial Deed B.R.AY. Mahyastoeti. Notonegoro, S.H. No. 01 dated January 2, 2012, Notary Deed of Lumassia, SH. 10 dated January 19, 2012 and Notary Deed of Lumassia, SH. 02 dated February 7, 2012 made under Government Regulation no. 54 dated December 22, 2011, concerning the capital participation of the Republic of Indonesia into the share capital of PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda which is subsequently transferred entirely into the share capital of the company of PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja, so the composition of share capital is 99.99955% PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja (Persero ) and 0.00045% Yayasan Kesejahteraan Karyawan (YKK) of PT PIM.

Chemical industry in particular produces urea and ammonia fertilizers.
PT PIM is present among the self-help spirit and the nation's swelter in the field of science and technology engineering, and with it PT PIM is the first large-scale fertilizer factory built by the nation's sons through PT Rekayasa Industri's national contractor in 1982.
PT PIM stands with a strategy to meet the needs of urea fertilizer in the western part of Indonesia which geographically includes the agricultural area, after previously pioneered by PT Pusri Palembang. So the presence of PT PIM can meet the needs of fertilizer for farmers and plantations are very wide in the northern region of Sumatra (Aceh province, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands and West Kalimantan). The position of PT PIM is also very strategic to export its excess products to neighboring countries because it is topographically very close.
By utilizing the availability of large natural gas reserves found in Arun Village, North Aceh Regency and the source of water flowing from the mountains in Aceh through the Peusangan River, PT PIM stands with the same capacity as previous government-built fertilizer factories of 570,000 tons / year and ammonia 386.000 ton / year, is the 11th urea fertilizer factory in Indonesia.
Currently PT PIM has 2 units of factories producing prest type (granule) and granule (tablet) each having the same capacity. Both types of urea are projected to supply national fertilizers every year and can even export through their own port facilities.
PT PIM is 274 KM southeast of Banda Aceh or 335 KM northwest of Medan, reachable by land, sea or air. It is located in Lhokseumawe industrial estate right on the edge of the Strait of Malacca, one of the world's most populous shipping lanes. This means that the position of PT PIM is a very lucrative prospective area for business development.
