Hi all,

This weekend I published a story that I should not have published. In it, the author — who has been writing for P.S. for about a year — referenced and implicitly defended organizations whose values conflict directly with those I hold dear. Namely: tolerance, equality, respect for all.

The story has been removed, and I’ve been in touch with the writers involved. But the incident weighs on my mind. That the essay was published at all, and that members of this community felt targeted or threatened as a result, is unacceptable, but it is entirely my fault. I did not review the story’s content as closely as I should have. That’s my responsibility. I humbly and sincerely apologize for the hurt and confusion my oversight caused.

That said, I feel I need to affirm something. This has never been more true: P.S. I Love You is unequivocally opposed to hate, ignorance, and discrimination in all its disparate forms. That means we oppose and will not advertise groups or organizations who encourage such things. Ever. I am not in the business of censorship, and I do want to continue publishing content that touches on an array of topics and interests, but I will err on the side of safety, love, and common sense every damn time.

I’m proud of this publication. I intend to continue being proud of it. I’ll keep working at being better.

My apologies again to those involved in this small mess. I will do my best to ensure this sort of thing does not happen again.
