Diseases of the nervous system
The nervous system is constituted by the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and the peripheral nervous system, which carries messages from all and to all parts of the body. These two parts of the nervous system vary greatly in their reaction to injuries and diseases: the cells of the peripheral nervous system have a resistance to wear and a capacity for regeneration that the cells of the central nervous system lack.
Amazing that the brain can repair itself, if not too badly damaged...so too other parts of the body! @marialopez - thank you, enjoy your weekend :)
