observations from the venezuelan coup attempt
Supposedly there was a coup attempt in venezuela today. Fox news reportedly has a photo of some rebels with real guns and real ammo, but the Reuters's feeds since I started isn't showing the actual "fighting"-but they are showing the peoples protest and the governments response. Maybe actually fighting would violate youtube's terms of service-afterall tech giants are in trouble for not censoring the live images of christchurch. There were enough people there they could have easily toppled the government had they been armed-but they weren't. The most disturbing thing the government done which I seen (on live feed) was run over some protesters, it appears intentional-but maybe assumed the people would get out of the way. I don't know if they died or not, but they are probably maimed for life if they survived. The media admits rocks were thrown, but fox news doesn't mention the molitov coctails that were flaming on the tanks moments before. There are a lot of what appear to be gunshots, big weapons, water [cannon] trucks, and booms-and of course armored military vehicles and body armor.

Tear gas canisters are clearly seen, and the lack of bodies suggest may suggest non-lethal rounds unless there is substantial censorship going on. The people themselves appear to be armed with rocks, wooden and metal poles, scythes, Molotov cocktails, I think I saw a firecracker, and metal plating for shielding-a few have gas masks. One person was shown repeatedly throwing a large rock against the ground trying to have it shatter into smaller pieces-and failing. It looks like many of the people were involved in a peaceful protests, but certain elements chose violence. A few bad apples who brought rocks to what could have been a gun fight-maybe it was a gun fight. I don't want to see dead bodies, but the media gets to decide when that is appropriate and when it isn't. Maybe a massacre is going on, but the media won't report it yet.

There were pictures of armored military vehicles parked on bridges early on. Now, I don't think that given something spontaneous that people can magically be expected to become military experts or have the devices necessary to bring down a bridge as to disrupt the flow of and damage the military vehicles already on top of them. Oh there might be a few individuals who might such as people in demolition or construction, but they are quite rare and would lose their ability to make a living if the effort failed. But, if the people all carried say a 25lb bucket of rocks they could have effectively barricaded the streets and held the capital under siege until the piles were cleared. But again, this was spontaneous.
The harsh reality is, when a people have to arm themselves with rocks up against a trained army then they aren't going to achieve much. In fact the coup itself is one guy trying to appeal to military officers to defect and turn against Maduro. Basically the people begging the master's soldiers to rebel since they are unable to. An appeal to heaven by proxy. If they aren't able to fight themselves, then they should do what I shall-leave and start a new life elsewhere. Leaving is what smarter and more peaceful people do, even if it isn't easy. Even I am not intellectually ready.
Socialists states and post industrial capitalist states tend to suffer a major defect. They have learned to depend upon government and or business instead of themselves. The people are using rocks, they might be using sign posts, and garden tools up against an armed military. It is basically a repeat of the peasants revolt. There were two large ones, in 1381 and later in 1524. The one in 1381 started out as a success as most of the English kings troops were away, but the king later managed to suppress the rebellion and rescind his agreements with the rebels. The one in Germany in 1524 lead to the aristocracy to kill 100k of the 300k rioters. Observers will feel bad about the people as the governments, if they so choose, massacres the people. But going to war unplanned, unskilled, and with primitive tools is a suicide waiting to happen that will not result in a better life. People often site the American revolution and the Vietcong as rural people defeating standing armies, but the substantial difference is the people having access to guns.
Things in Venezuela has been bad for a long time. The people had plenty of time to learn new trades, including gunsmithing. Of course, homemade guns can be extremely dangerous to the users, but even a home made gun would stand a better chance at a gun fight than a rock-especially if they could be used to snipe their targets. Producing ammo is another problem. I think gunpowder requires saltpeter. I am no chemists and no gun expert, but it seems saltpeter requires sulfur. If you look at a chemistry lab these days, you can pretty much order any chemical you want-subject to regulations. But good luck trying to identify say pyrite, where it can be obtained, and learning how to separate the iron and the sulfur. I mean you could order it from a lab, but the last thing you want to do is bring attention to yourself.
Another observation, at least until the death reports numbers come in, is how restrained the Venezuelan police are compared to American police. Yes, there is that issue of a tank driver who ran over some protesters which is an extreme abuse. But that aside, our police will shoot boy scouts who answers the door with a nintendo wii controller in hand, they shoot unarmed people, and they arrest people for expressing ideas. In venezuela they are on the edge of a coup d'estate, and so far it looks like they are using water cannons, rubber bullets, and tear gas. Again, there could be a massacre going on, but no one reporting it. Here in the USA, I am sure that our police would shoot and kill those armed with rocks, Molotov cocktails, or bludgeon objects....like the ROTC did at little old kent state. Kent state is a lot less significant than our nations capital or a lowly state capital. But the problem in the United states seems to be, no one is willing to use their guns against the police nor the judges that protect them....and so they keep getting away with their murders against us.
Another observation to make is that if the people were to try such a rebellion in the united states, our video technology and facial recognition databases are far superior [biometrics on state ids, and elsewhere]. The high quality video may not be available on the streets today or for some time, but the media and intelligence can use them during any unrest. After a peasants revolt is crushed here in the united states, intelligence could simply run through the eigen faces up against the databases and know who exactly the protesters were, the rock throwers, run their inquisitions and destroy the leadership with ease. On top of that, google would probably give the feds all cellphone records of people in the area as determined by their GPS. Even a passive observer may not be safe. Like so many in the USA, they could find themselves in jails and prisons just for having non-violent ideas the elitists don't like.
Eventually the people of the united states will rebel, it is long overdue if you ask me due to the family court system. When the people do rise up, they either need to be in 100% or not at all. Which is probably why we'll see more focused lone wolf attacks against our institutions in the future since everything is a suicide mission anyways, as others are bound to squeal if otherwise. Our intelligence gathering capabilities are too strong, and it is do or do not, there is no try. Oh, we'll continue to have spontaneous protests, and maybe night time unplanned riots in the USA. Riots upon innocent business instead of the tyrannical governments, we are so lost in Marxist crap. Night time is still a very short window to play with if the people expect to take back their rights-for which they probably wont. Start saying "bah", that will soon be the official language in America as the elitist proclaim, "tonight we dine on soylent green".
