Is killing justifiable.

Killing simply means making a living thing or a functional being lifeless. The English dictionary defines it as follows: That literally deprives of life; lethal, deadly, fatal. Killing is not something good but sometimes becomes necessary. What I want us to look into is the justiciability of killing.

The law varies in different jurisdiction, and I shall marshal my argument and literal judgment from my country point of view. According to the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria 1999 as amend chapter 2, section 33, sub 1 to be precised; the constitution provides for the right to life, but gave an exception that the life could be taken by court orders. Sub 2 of that same section provides other situations that can warrant killing these are :

1.The defence of any person from unlawful violence or the defence of property.

1. In other to effect a lawful arrest or to prevent the escape of a person detained.

2. For the purpose of suppressing riot, insurrection or mutiny.

Killing as per say is justified in all these instances. Now, my own observation goes thus. Right to life as guaranteed by all the government of the world, how far have they gone to guarantee that live. Do we really cherish our existence. It is a known fact that soldiers are paid to die, is their own live not worthy to be guaranteed. Another thing is this, when a killer is killed we still have a killer left.

If life is mistakenly taken can it really be restored? Well, the world is divided into two blocs whenever the issue of killing arises. We have the retentionist and abolishionist.

Retentionist bloc: it is a faction of the world that believes killing is justifiable, they believe a killing is normal if it to curb social mileu and also uses it as a deterant to other. They believe killing cost nothing and save a hell lot of resources.

Abolishionist bloc: they see no sense in killing, it is a bloc that believes in live and let live. This school believes killing a killer other elongate the chain of killers. It is a bloc that believes something good can come out of the trash bin, they never seek solace in the condemnation of any human.

All mortal will die one day, all humans are mortals all human will die one day. I can never for once in my life support killing, love is what I have always love to believe in since the beginning of my journey on the surface of the planet earth. As a kid growing up my parent tried all they could to hide the real world from me, I was made to believe only love exist, pains and sorrow was very infinitesimal, even when any relative or neighbor dies, I can recollect my parent tell me they went on a long journey and will be back after a long while, but you know what, I never get to see them again.

In conclusion, whether we kill or get killed all human must die, no man will live forever, why can't we just enjoy the few years we have to spend with ourselves before death come knocking. In the word of a great American singer ; war is not the answer, only love can conquer hate, we just need to find a way to bring some understanding here. The world would have been the best place to be if we can all love ourselves, I won't harm you if I love you and you won't do so either, but we have room for hatred and that why we are who we are today.

Let not kill ourselves before death kills us.
