Foulards Rouges - who do they think they’re fooling?
The Foulards Rouges (Red Scarves) are a joke, but the independent police union “Syndicat France Police - Policiers en Colère” (France Police Union - Angry Police Officers) is not laughing.
They issued a couple of statements commenting on the Foulards Rouges demonstration yesterday.
The bullet points:
- Where were the Foulards Rouges when our colleagues were attacked and burned by molotov cocktails in Viry-Châtillon? https://www.liveleak.com/view?t=32e_1476022830
- Where are they to denounce the suicide of a police officer every two days?
- This movement clearly promotes the EU and social-democracy
- Most Foulards Rouges are ideologically and politically anti-police, but they are opportunists when they use injured police officers to slander the Gilets Jaunes and present them as “casseurs” (Casseurs are external elements that infiltrate all sorts of demonstration to go on a rampage and break “casser” stuff)
- Our colleagues of the National Police don’t need the supposed support of the Foulards Rouges to a politics and policies that are destructive to our colleagues and the nation
- If the government had proposed political answers to the demands of the Gilets Jaunes, we wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place
- For 7 euros you could buy a T-shirt that says “Stop the Violence”. Which ones? The ones inflicted on the Gilets Jaunes?
They estimate the number of Foulards Rouges marching in Paris on Sunday afternoon to be about 3,500 (not 10,000!!! surprise surprise).
I hope that your requests will be heard soon
