Shelter in Place: Will Tyranny Spread Like Wildfires

In the wake of the global pandemic surrounding COVID-19, I cannot help to think that these emergency powers granted by governments will not simply go away after the smoke clears.

History has shown us that with things like warrantless wiretapping from 9/11, never had. Today they continue to infringe on peoples privacy using cell phone data.

Today we see countries that are using cellular data to track people who come into contact with infected individuals, to notify them.
Soon it will be used to imprison and even oppress people.

In the fear of infection and a lifeless society, the people have allowed the government to make decisions for us that in the long term, if still in place, infringe on our civil liberties, with little to no pushback at all. That is scary stuff.

In regards to quarantine, I keep seeing people pulled off beaches for simply running across them. I thought in America we had the constitution that protected us. I thought most Americans had knowledge of such rights and if so, Why isn't there any pushback?

For a government to tell individuals what they can and cant do I think go against these very amendments,

  • Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

As they are passing order after order, They are commanding people so they can not have church or service of worship in person. People, now I'm sure can not assemble in any fashion even with precautions being taken to keep people clean and out of contact with said "virus".

Instead, it's for your safety. Sheep blindly accept under the guise of this so-called: State Of Emergency.

  • Fourth Amendment
The Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution provides that "[t]he right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

I see this being violated simply by law enforcement stopping people and identifying them simply due to the order that is in place, in most places.

  • Fifth Amendment
The right to travel is a part of the liberty of which the citizen cannot be deprived without due process of law under the Fifth Amendment.

Now we can not travel as we could. This is not going to go away and citizens should be more fearful of a tyrannical government than some virus. It's time for us to think for ourselves and not depend solely on the government to tell us what to do to be "safe."

Safety is not real. Just because you wear a seatbelt doesn't mean you can not die in a car wreck.
