WHAT IS CAPPUCCINO DIFFERENT, LATTE AND FLAT WHITE?

Although all three look the same, but these drinks are not the same.
CAPPUCCINO, latte and flat white are the most common menus in cafes or coffee shops. And the three are actually composed of two main "compositions", namely textured milk and espresso.
Then what's the difference between cappuccino, latte and flat white? The answer lies in how each of these beverages is prepared, presented and how well the baristanya have been trained-because at least, my experience, sometimes there are barista who like udel say "the same tuh mba / mas" even though we have protested because the cappuccino we ordered just Served latte. -Sorry, to the baristas who probably read this. If both are the same, then why is the name different?
Although both are made from espresso and milk, but what distinguishes these three drinks is the amount of milk dosage and the amount of foam added to the espresso. The amount of milk added to this will affect the taste of beverages presented. So therefore, again, (flavor) cappuccino, latte and flat white are of course not the same. Check out the following differences:

Cappuccino is a traditional Italian drink famous for its top layer of milk froth-usually in-garnish with brown powder. However, what makes this drink unique is not just a milk froth. Anatomically, cappuccino can be illustrated into 3 parts such as:
∙ 1/3 espresso
∙ 1/3 steamed milk
∙ 1/3 milk froth
So the drink is said to be a cappuccino if it has the same dose for each composition (espresso, steamed milk, and milk froth). To recognize whether the drink is a cappuccino, we will generally feel a rather firm and bold foam in the first gulp, followed by a strong milky flavor afterwards. Also note that cappuccino does not use art on its surface.

LATTE
()
Latte is often inferred as a milky-tipped coffee. And that assumption could be true, when compared to a cappuccino. The most basic key in making a latte is in the process of steaming the milk. Generally, the steaming process of milk serves to two things, namely heating milk until it reaches a certain temperature in accordance with the desired and to produce micro foam. In other words, the foam in the latte usually tends to smooth and not thick.

The composition of the latte can be described as follows:
∙ Double shot espresso (about 60 ml).
∙ Milk steamed, usually almost full cup.
∙ Micro foam is only about 1 cm thick in the top layer.
To indicate whether the drink is a latte, from the first sip we will immediately feel the coffee that feels so milky.
FLAT WHITE
Flat white is a beverage that tends to be subjective, and the variation depends on which country or café you visit (except England, since the UK has their own specific "blend" for flat white). Broadly speaking, flat white consists of textured milk and espresso. Some baristas may use less doses of milk than lattes.
Generally, flat white is presented with two variations:
∙ Without foam. This variation is most commonly used in many cafés where espresso (in standard shot) is combined with steamed milk.
∙ With foam. While this variation is quite common served especially by a coffee shop specialist. This method really demands the expertise of the baristanya, because at the time of making his textured milk, the barista must make micro foam that really smooth but kerasa.

The key to feeling this flat white difference is when we drink it, we will feel the coffee that tends to be strong but still there is a little soft feeling that accompanies it.

Thus the difference between cappuccino, latte and flat white. Hopefully 'science' can be practiced when hanging out to a coffee shop, yes. 😉

APA BEDA CAPPUCCINO, LATTE DAN FLAT WHITE?
Posted on 24 juli 2017

∙ Double shot espresso (sekitar 60 ml).
