The next wave of innovation
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning
The future of technology will prompt the question of how to automate increasingly complex tasks, until that task is the act of reasoning itself. Critical tasks require complex decision making abilities and that realm is currently the domain of human brains. The intersection of efficient and powerful hardware and advanced neural-network implementations coming together will further the field of artificial intelligence to the point that machines will mimic human reasoning and decision-making itself.
- Independently behaving swarm colony robots
The exploration of environments where humans cannot possibly interact with physically will be an important point of concern. This is because humans will eventually exhaust the capacity of our current and limited natural resources. Humans are by nature not efficient in the consumption of resources needed to maintain biological and societal needs. When this inefficiency causes us to be aware of the diminishing resources of planet Earth, one option will be to explore how to use resources from outside of the planet. One solution to achieve that mission is by creating swarm robots that will do work in humanly impossible environments. This will be the culmination of artificial intelligence, energy efficient technology, and the need to survive.
- Artificial Humans
As with the above technologies the need to develop artificial humans will come from our need to perpetuate. Eventually we will be cognizant of the work to solve problems that may not be complete within a lifetime. Our need to extend a human lifetime may cause us to create artificial humans which will be designed to do the work or address the concerns that we are not able to accomplish within our life. They are imagined in the past to be human automatons or golems. Their main task will be to help humans by being physically improved version of humans.
True or not? Why?
