The group of researchers of Universities of Calgary, Waterloo and Dartmouth College (Canada) has developed the modular smartphone consisting of three gadgets – the basic and two peripheral. His main plus is that several people at the same time can use it.

From the main module the user can operate access to applications to peripheral, controlling "picture" on their screens. Peripheral smartphones – one average sizes, another small – are everyone in the niche of the general case and are waiting in "wings" in case someone is required to call or your child will want to play.

For this purpose it is necessary to take the smartphone from a niche and to establish on the screen of the main smartphone access to those applications and functions which the user will consider necessary. There are 4 modes: "to borrow the application", "guest", "full access" and "the general screen". Gadgets communicate among themselves with the help of NFC technology.

Peripheral phone by the number of functions looks much more modestly: from it it is possible to ring and also to control the main module if someone uses it another.

It is possible to refer casing of a container for storage of smartphones to minuses of new system — it is printed on the 3D-printer and does not differ in a special delicacy. It has a rectangular form and inexpressive gray color. At the same time quite large size of a container causes inconveniences in case of continuous use.

As practice showed, modular phones did not find special popularity, but according to one of creators of the smartphone "rub in one" Teddie Sayed, to them, perhaps, parents with children or fans of multiplayer mobile games will wish to use.
