Has passed less than two years since the beginning of implementation of the joint project of Microsoft, Facebook and the infrastructure company Telxius on laying of the transatlantic fiber-optical Marea Internet cable 6600 km long which has connected the cities Virginia Scourge (USA) and Bilbao (Spain).
The cable will provide information transfer with a speed of 160 terabyte/sec. that is equivalent to simultaneous broadcast of 71 million stream HD videos. The line will begin to function at the beginning of 2018. She will allow to satisfy the growing demand for Internet infrastructure worldwide and will make it more reliable.
Marea will become the most high-capacity transatlantic underwater data transmission line which after Spain will connect to network hubs of Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. It will help to satisfy the growing global demand for more than 200 cloud services, including Bing, Office 365, Skype, Xbox Live and the Microsoft Azure platform.
